Create and Be Creative

“Best thing about post production is being part of the creative team”

Critical response to “Air: Courting of A Legend”

Cory Milano is a second-generation music editor who got started in post production in 2006 after completing the Recording Artists Program at Musician’s Institute in Hollywood, California. A California native, Cory’s interest and passion for music started from an early age.   As a teen and young adult, Cory enjoyed the challenges of composing, creating, recording and performing his own music at venues around Los Angeles, California. Cory’s electronic/folk music project, which released under the moniker Chloroform Days, allowed him to develop his editing skills and discover ways to manipulate audio to create unique sounds and styles.  Cory also spent many late nights as a radio DJ at KPCC, 90.7 FM, where he helped cultivated the Mood II Swing radio show.   These experiences served as a natural transition to music editing. He quickly honed his skills using Pro Tools, Abelton and Logic.

Cory’s early career focused on film post production where he served as second music editor on several high profile films including The Grudge 2, Moneyball, Ghost Rider, Lucky You and Spiderman 3, for which he earned a Golden Reel Nomination. In 2010, Cory transitioned into television music editing starting out on the ABC shows Mistresses and Mixology. More recently, Cory wrapped up work on Evil Eye for Amazon, as well as the temp music editor on the new Mighty Ducks series for Disney+. Cory was the music editor for Season 1 of Why Woman Kill? for CBS Al Access and 3 seasons of USA Network’s Shooter. Cory also had the privilege of working with up and coming Director, Nia DeCosta on her feature film, Candyman, due in theaters in 2022.

Cory enjoys the fast pace of television as well as the more detailed approach to film; he relishes being part of a team which is a cornerstone of successful post production. In 2019, Cory joined 2POP Music whose technical support and wide range of resources help him service his clients.

Cory currently lives in Sherman Oaks, California with his wife Charlotte, 2 year old son Luke, and their aussiedoodle, Stevie.  He is an avid and experienced hockey player, so when he is not in the cutting room you can find him at any one of the ice rinks around Los Angeles.
